Memory Verse: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

         1.  How many souls are in hell today?  2 Peter 2:9 “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to ____________ the _________ unto the _________ of judgment to be punished:” There is no one in hell today. God kept them in reserve, until the Day of Judgment, then all the wicked will be destroyed together.

 2. Where are the sinners from the past reserved? John 5: 28,29  "...the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the _________ shall hear his voice, And shall come __________; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”  Job 21:30, 32 “That the wicked is ___________ to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath. Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall___________ in the tomb."  The Bible is specific. Both the wicked and the righteous that die are in their graves “Sleeping” waiting for the resurrection.

         3. When will sinners be cast into hell fire? Matthew 13:40-42 “As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the _________ of this ___________. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Who, will be cast into the lake of fire? Revelation 20:15. “And _________ was not found written in the ____________ of __________ was cast into the lake of fire.”          4. What is the wages for sin? Romans 6:23. “For the wages of sin is __________; but the gift of God is eternal ___________ through Jesus Christ our Lord."  God’s promise for His true followers is in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not _________, but have everlasting __________."  The wages of sin is death, not everlasting life in the flames of hell, but death; the righteous receive “Everlasting Life.”

         5.  What do the wicked receive in hell fire? Revelation 21:8 "But he fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and the murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the _________ _________."  They receive a second death.

Here is some more texts to look up and read on this

         Romans 6:23            Wicked suffer death

         Psalms 145:20          Shall be destroyed

         Job 21:30                    Suffer destruction

         Psalms 37:20           Shall perish

Malachi 4:1            Shall be burned up

Psalms 37:38           Shall be destroyed together

         Psalms 37:20           Shall be consumed

Psalms 37:9             Shall be cut off

         Psalms 21:9             Shall be devoured

         Psalms 62:3             Shall be slain

All these text make it clear the wicked die, they are destroyed. They do not live forever in misery.

         6. When and how will hell fire be kindled? Matthew 13:40-42. "…so shall it be in the _________ of the __________...The Son of man shall send forth his angels ...And shall cast them into a __________ of __________..." In Revelation 20:9 “And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from _________ out of heaven, and devoured them."  God himself will rain down fore from heaven upon the earth.

         7. Just how big and how hot is the fire? 2 Peter 3:10,11 "...the day of the Lord will come as a ____________ in the __________; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall __________ with fervent __________, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." It will be as big as the world.  The fire will melt the earth surface and the things man has made (works). There will be noise in the heavens from the fire, sounds like explosions.

         8. How long will the wicked suffer? Revelation 22:12 We are not sure but let’s look and see what The Word of God says on it. "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his ________ shall be." Luke 12:47,48 "And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But that knew not... with few stripes."  Matthew 16:27 “…and then he shall reward every man according to his works." The Bible does not say, how long it will be, but will be according to the sins which each has done.

         9. Will the Devil be in charge of Hell? Revelation 20:10 says, "And the _________  that deceived them was cast into the ________ of ___________ and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever."  The Devil will be cast into the fire and will be turned to ashes. We see that it’s a false statement that the Devil is in charge of Hell.

       10. What is the real reason for a Hell fire? Matthew 25:41 tells us why he needed it. "…Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the __________ and his   ________." It was to be for Satan and his angels. "For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be." Psalms 37:10 “For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.”

"But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of The Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: shall be consumed; into smoke shall they consume away." Psalms 37:20; see Revelation 20:15. God's purpose for hell is to destroy The Devil and sin and sinners and make the righteous safe for eternity. If one sinner were left, it would be a deadly virus threatening the universe. Those who will be saved are those who love and obey Christ.  Satan wanted to take God’s place, the sin of selfishness and pride must be destroyed.

         11. The Bible tells us the fire does go out. Isaiah 47:14 "Behold they shall be as ________; the fire shall burn them, they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flames: there shall not be a coal to ___________ at, nor ___________ to sit before it." The fire goes out there will not be afire to warm by. God does not torture sinners he destroys them.

         12. How does God feel about destroying sinners? Let’s take a look at these texts. Ezekiel 33:11 “Say unto them, as I live, saith The Lord God, I have No pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” Luke 9:56 “For the son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them....” Isaiah 28:21 “For The Lord shall rise up as in Mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon that he may do his work,  his _____________ work: and bring to pass His act His strange act." The work of God has always been to save lives, for him to have to destroy sinners is a strange work for Him. Sin and sinner will be gone for ever. God has another plan for this world at that time.

         13. What are God’s plans for this earth and His people? Naham 1:9, 10. "What do ye imagine against The Lord? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.” Isaiah 65:17 for, behold, I ________ new ________ and a new __________; and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind." God will start over with this earth and make a new one. Revelation 21:1, 3, 4 (read) we want to make sure we don’t miss our on Heaven.

The smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever, but it will end. Compare Revelation 14:11 and Revelation 18:8; Malachi 4:1-4 with Jonah 2:6; Exodus 21:1-6; Jude 6, 7.

         A. The word forever means continuous action as long as the object last.

         (1) Example: "I will dwell in the house of The Lord forever." Psalms 23:6 In this case The House of The Lord lasts endlessly.

         (2) Example: "The leprosy... of Naaman shall cleave unto thee (Gehazi), and unto thy seed forever." 2 Kings 5:27 Naaman’s leprosy is not now clinging to Gehazi and to his seed.

New.

(3) Example: Jude 7 talks about Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. We know that they were destroyed by fire, they are not still burning today. It was eternal fire because they are destroyed for eternal ages. Take Jonah 3:6, Jonah is not still in the belly of the fish. This earth will be destroyed, the things on it will never be again. All things will be made new.

As the man is converted by the truth, the work of transformation of character goes on. He has an increased measure of understanding, in becoming a man of obedience to God. The mind and will of God become his will, and by constantly looking to God for counsel, he becomes a man of increased understanding. There is a general development of the mind that is unreservedly placed under the guidance of the Spirit of God. This is not a one-sided education, which develops a one-sided character; but there is revealed a harmoniously developed character. Weaknesses that have been seen in the powerless, vacillating character are overcome, and continual devotion and piety bring the man in such close relation to Jesus Christ that he has the mind of Christ. He is one with Christ, having soundness and strength of principle, and clearness of perception, which is that wisdom that comes from God, who is the source of all light and understanding. The grace of God has fallen upon the humble, obedient, conscientious soul like the Sun of righteousness, strengthening the mental faculties, and in the most astonishing manner making those who long to use their capacity in the Master's service, small though it may be, strong continually by obedience and practice, and grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and be bearers of much fruit to the glory of God, in good works. So that the men of learning and of high accomplishments have learned most precious lessons from the precepts and examples of the unlearned, as the world would call them. But could they have a deeper sight, it would be seen that they had obtained knowledge in the highest graded school, even the school of Jesus Christ.
